Are you kidding me?

The Los Angeles Lakers are 2-0. Let me say that in a different way – the Los Angeles Lakers are 2-0 without Kobe Bryant. Before Tuesday night, how many people would have guessed that the Lakers would have wins against Phoenix at home and the Warriors at Golden State knowing the Kobe Bryant would not be playing?

Now, I do not want to get too far ahead of myself, but this is shaping up to be an extremely exciting season for the Lakers. In each game, the teams’ balance was excellent with Lamar Odom serving as floor general while Kobe keeps rehabilitating his knee. Plus, the was a great distribution of scoring and good play from the youngsters including Ronny Turiaf (Gonzaga!), Andrew Bynum, and Jordan Farmar. (UCLA!) This bodes well for the possible success of this team picking up from their first round battle with the Phoenix Suns in the NBA playoffs last June.

Next Tuesday, I have tickets for the game at Staples center for Lakers vs. Timberwolves. I must say that I cannot wait for game time to come, and hope that once Kobe comes back the team play and execution continues.

Go Lakers!
