Why you like the Sacramento (SMF) airport

Ok. This will be a seriously short posting. I just want to say that I really like the airport in Sacramento and you will to, if you end up there. I have flown through many airports, and despite the relatively small size of it, SMF has the things that are important to me. This is especially true for me as a frequent traveler on United Airlines.

Here they are:

  1. Free Internet WiFi Access. The Sacramento airport gets it. I cannot tell you how frustrating it is as a frequent flyer to start in Los Angeles (LAX), stop in Chicago (ORD), and end up in Dallas (DFW) and have different providers in each location that want to charge you $9.95 for brief access. (Not necessarily in that order) Even the major providers like T-Mobile, Sprint, and others do not have consistent coverage. Every time I end up in Sacramento, I know I will have a chance to get quickly connected and do what I want.
  2. Pyramid Brewery. There is a great little restaurant / pub here where you can grab a good beer (Pyramid Hefeweizen) and something decent to eat.
  3. There is never a line in security. The longest that I have waited in line is 3 people deep. And I have been here at least 10 times in the past year.
