Silversun Pickups – Carnavas & Lazy Eye Lyrics

I am only 11 months late to the party. I finally got off my rear and purchased the Silversun Pickups latest album this weekend, Carnavas. For any others of you out there, do not waste your money on iTunes, rather pick it up at a Target store for $8.99. Better fidelity and a cheaper price!

And I am very glad that I did. While the band’s latest album launched some 11 months ago, it has really caught fire the past few weeks. Thanks to some play on some Indie rock stations nationwide as well as the World Famous KROQ 106.7FM in Los Angeles – this band has gotten the exposure they deserve. Of course playing out at Cochella and touring with Snow Patrol helps.

I’m pretty impressed with the album. All the recent comparisons to Billy Corgan and the Smashing Pumpkins and Nirvana bear no merit with me. Others have compared them to the 90’s genre of music – however, Silversun Pickups go well beyond that and have developed a sound of their own.

While Lazy Eye is headlining act on this album there are several other noteworthy songs. Make sure to check it out.

Perhaps the only controversy I am willing to engage in is the fact that most folks seem to repeat the 2nd to last stanza from the song as “its the moon, the sun, and the sky” – while the various lyric sites report it as “its the room”. Truth be told, it sounds like “room” to me!

The lyrics from Lazy Eye by the Silversun Pickups

I've been waiting
I've been waiting for this moment all my life
But it's not quite right

And this 'real'
It's impossible if possible
At who's blind word
So clear but so unheard

I’ve been waiting
I've been waiting for this silence all night long
It's just a matter of time

To appear sad
With the same 'ol decent lazy eye
Fixed to rest on you
Aim free and so untrue

Everyone's so intimately rearranged
Everyone can focus clearly with such shine

Everyone's so intimately rearranged
Everyone can focus clearly with that shine

Lost and loaded
Still the same 'ol decent lazy eye
Straight through your gaze
That's why i said i relate
I said we relate
It's so fun to relate

It's the room the sun and the sky
It's the room the sun and the sky

I've been waiting
I've been waiting for this moment...
