Blackberry - How to Delete Multiple Messages (Step-by-Step)

This post is in tribute to a colleague of mine that asked me this question this week. I have 500+ messages in my Inbox (or Message List) on my Blackberry and it takes forever to clean them out. I asked them why they did not simply just delete the prior messages and clean them out quickly. The response was that they did not know that was supported and thus this post was born.

It is possible, and very easy to delete large sets of messages from your Blackberry. In any case – you should be careful when you do this if you have call logs(link) being saved in your message list. If you do, and you delete them – they will be unrecoverable, although the default storage length is 30 days. If you want to keep the call logs, but want to delete the messages, then check out this post to see how to adjust that.

Here is the step-by-step guide on how to delete multiple email addresses on your Blackberry device.

1. Select the date on your Blackberry for which you want to delete all previous messages. Note, by date is the only method that is supported. If you want to keep a partial day’s worth of messages, just go to the previous date field.

2. Select the “Menu” key and scroll to the “Delete Prior” option.

3. Confirm that you want to delete all previous messages by clicking the “Yes” option.

Congratulations, you have deleted a batch or group of email messages from your Blackberry device!
