Checking into Pismo Beach at Pismo Coast Village

Today we moved over to our spot at the Pismo Coast Village RV Resort. I have been coming to this particular RV park -- I guess RV resort now for probably more than the last 20 years. From my limited experience with RVing, travel trailers, fifth wheels, and motorhomes -- I must say that this is one of the best parks I have seen. The campsites are clean, generally have a generous amounts of grass, and as you can see from the aerial picture below -- right on the beach.

We already happened to be in town for the 22nd Annual Pismo Beach Classic, staying at the Pismo State Beach campground just a couple miles down the road. It is actually in Oceano at 555 Pier -- where most of the people with their toys head out onto the beach to play back in the dunes. While it was a relatively ok campground, it is no Pismo Coast Village.

Once we were checked in close to noon at Pismo Coast Village, we setup our fifth wheel, finishing it off with a couple of twists of the STEADYfast stabilizers to give us a nice firm feel in the trailer. With that, we were pretty much setup for the week with a pretty decent spot. That is important, especially since we have some space out back where we can tie out Luey, our 4-year chocolate lab and give him a little bit of room to roam. Ironically, the picture below is almost exactly like our camp-site setup!
