Motorola Phone Tools - Bluetooth Setup Guide for MPT

The Motorola Phone Tools application, also known as MPT or Mobile Phone Tools has the ability to connect from your computer in three different ways; USB cable, Bluetooth, and Infrared. While the USB cable may be the you connect with your desktop computer, those of us on the go really want to be wireless as much as possible. In this case, the most important configuration for your Mobile Phone Tools installation and your Motorola phone is the Bluetooth configuration.

This guide with walk you through the steps required to get the Bluetooth setup. In each phone's case there may be slightly different steps that need to be taken in order to get your phone to connect. Fortunately, the MPT setup wizard provides some additional advice there in order to get your Bluetooth connectivity functioning properly.

Here are the step-by-step installation instructions:
1. Create a new profile for you phone. Once you have, click on the new profile on the 'OK' button. Make sure that your phone is disconnected from your computer.

2. Select the "Bluetooth" option from the list of available options and click on the "Next" button.

3. Find your phone from the list of available phones. I choose the RAZRV3x for my Motorola RAZR phone. Instructions are provided for how to enable Bluetooth so your PC can discover it. (For the RAZR V3 - Step 1 - On your phone, press the "Menu" key. Step 2 - Select "Settings". Step 3 - On the "Settings" menu, scroll to "Connection" and press "Select". Step 4 - On the "Connection" menu, select "Bluetooth Link". Step 5 - Scroll to "Setup" and press "Select". Step 6 - Scroll to "Power" and make sure bluetooth "Power" is "ON". If the Power is "OFF" change it to "ON". Step 7 - Press "Back". Step 8 - Select "Find Me". Your phone displays "Discoverable: 3 minutes" . When this text displays on your phone, click Next to continue with the Bluetooth Setup Wizard.)

4. The Wizard should detect your phone and it should show up as a "Motorola Phone" with a cell phone icon. Highlight your phone (in case you have other Bluetooth devices) and click on the "Next" button.

5. The Motorola Phone Tools setup will setup and install your mobile device via the Bluetooth connection.

6. The process will complete the installation process and automatically exit.

7. Motorola Phone Tools will appear and show your mobile phone connected via Bluetooth. Congratulations, you are now using Bluetooth!
