Returning to India, Visits to Bangalore, New Dehli, and Agra

After my visit to India on business last year, I did not know when my next visit would come. Just this week, I have been able to confirm my trip to India in just over a week from now! This visit promises to be significantly different that my last trip and will take me to different places before.

First and short on the business perspective; on my last visit to India – which included Bombay, Pune, & New Delhi (Noida) – the visit was as a prospective client, to understand operating models, security, communications, and other important aspects of a vendor selection process. This time, it will be much different as a customer – with active, executing projects in different places in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). That in itself makes the trip that much more exciting; meeting and working with people that I have been working over long distance for the last few months.

On the personal level, I am anticipating the trip to be equally exciting. The majority of my time will be spent in Bangalore, India – the capital of Karnataka – India’s 3rd largest city and 5th largest metropolitan area. It’s a new city for me, so I am very much looking forward to getting to know that city. Originally the plan was to stay at the Leela Palace in Bangalore – a world renowned hotel / resort in Bangalore. However, travel plans changes a little and now we will be at the Chauncery Pavilion which is a brand new hotel designed for business travel. It may not be the Leela Palace, but it should be a great place to rest none the less. I'll be sure to report back on it.

Perhaps the most frustrating part of my previous trip was the two days spent in New Delhi without a venture to Agra to see the Taj Mahal. Great news on this front, my flight back goes through New Dehli with a couple day stop over. That will be perfect to be able to catch a sunrise at the Taj Mahal in Agra.

That also means, I will get to cross another item off my 1,000 Places To See Before You Die list!
