Lakers Season Tickets Wait List Pays Off Again!

It has been almost 2 years since I posted my tip on getting on the Los Angeles Lakers' Season Ticket Waitlist for NBA Basketball. When I first signed up for the list three years ago I started at 1200 or so three years ago. The first couple of years, the numbers dropped significantly as the Lakers either missed or barely skated into the playoffs, leaving me at number 738 last year. I had hoped for a lot of progress again this year, but given the demand of tickets and the success of Kobe Bryant, Andrew Bynum and team last year -- I only moved up 128 places, to number 610.

Los Angeles Lakers Tickets -- Pre-sale, Season Tickets, and Season Ticket Waiting List - NBA Basketball

One of the benefits in the past from being on the Season Ticket Waitlist was that you had earlier access to the pre-sale of Lakers tickets. And last year, I scored big with tickets to the biggest games of the year: Boston Celtrics, Phoenix Suns, Cleveland Cavaliers, San Antonio Spurs among others. In addition, you get early access to playoff tickets as well -- although I missed them last year.

This year was similar -- although disappointingly since the Lakers office decided to changed it up a bit. Previously, I have receved codes to the Season Ticket Holders pre-sale (STH Presale) and not just the Lakers Presale. When I went to buy my tickets -- what I considered to be the tier 1, premium or big games like Cleveland, Boston, etc. were all sold out. I wrote to the Lakers expressing my disappointment in the change this year -- I would encourage you to do the same as well, if your experience was similar to mine.

Fortunately, I was still able to get "decent" tickets for nine Lakers games -- primarily in the 200's section (reasonable) prices, with a couple of games in the Premier section and the 100's section. I would still like to grab some tickets for the premium games -- so I am going to try the public sale tomorrow at 10:00am. Not much hope there, but I am going to give it a try!

It's going to be an exciting season of basketball for the Los Angeles Lakers -- maybe I will see you at a game or two!

so will being on the waiting list help get cheaper seats or not really anymore?
