I installed the version 5 (with updates) on my Vista 64 machine and it operates but there is no ability to transfer files from the phone(photos etc). Don't know what the problem is but the program only lets you sync the Outlook type files.

What version of phone are you using? I had a temporary problem with my Motorola RAZR V3 in terms of this (the buttons were grayed out). However, I was able to fix by changing to 'classic mode' (bottom right) and then clicking on Transfer Files. From there, I had no more issues with MPT v5.

My RAZR V3 seems to be coming to the end of the line, so to speak, so I tried using MPT v5 to transfer my photos and numbers and such off of my phone. Ran into the same problem as above when it came to files (photos, etc), but the phonebook part works well.

Any ideas on how to transfer files? The tabs for 'file transfer' don't appear when I plug in the phone and open the MPT interface (the only reason I know they exist is by looking at the pdf instruction manual and seeing the pictures therein). Also swapped to 'classic mode' and still, no more options available to me.
