Photo Blog: USC vs. Oregon - October 4, 2008

Yesterday we headed down to the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum to attend the USC Trojans vs. Oregon Ducks football game. This was the first game of three (or four) that we will be attending this year. After an unsettling first quarter that led many of us to wonder if last week's performance in Corvallis was an aberration or if the season was going to be a struggle. Fortunately, from the second quarter onward it was the USC team we expected -- going on a 41-point unanswered streak and only allowing 6 yards rushing for the rest of the game -- with USC winning 44-10.

My only regret? Not taking my Rebel XSi Camera and my Canon EF-S 70-200mm F4/L lens from our seats due to the possible rain conditions. Good thing there is always next week against Arizona State!

Below are a few pictures from the day...

Love the signs you see as you walk around and do some tailgating. The two above are pretty hilarious. 1) Welcome Oregon -- Hey, at least your cheerleaders look good in their uniforms! -- a reference to Oregon consistently being voted the nation's ugliest uniforms. 2) Welcome Oregon! Your road to the Sun Bowl... ...Starts today! Nice shot at no chance for Oregon to make it to the Rose Bowl or another BCS game.Love the signs you see as you walk around and do some tailgating. The closest seats we have had to the field so far for a USC game. It almost felt too close from the end zone and that being 10-15 rows higher would have been a slightly better perspective. The closest seats we have had to the field so far for a USC game. Still, most of the scoring was in this end of the field for USC -- all touchdowns but one.

USC Trojans getting ready to take on the Oregon Ducks. Too bad the sound system was having issues early on. Perhaps that explained the slow start? I was also wondering if the song Lose Yourself by Eminem was still going to be the intro music or if it would be changed. It is still Lose Yourself for this season...USC Trojans getting ready to take on the Oregon Ducks. Too bad the sound system was having issues early on. Perhaps that explained the slow start? First touch down for USC at 7:47 in the second quarter on a 34-yard pass from Mark Sanchez to Damian Williams on 4th down. Great play to tie up the game.
