Like Alberto, I had the problem that after implementing the above procedures, the "!" didnt immediately show up, but did when i tried to play a track. However, I noticed that in W7 the path for the actual mp3s in iTunes was C:\Users\USERNAME\Music\iTunes\ITunes Music, but this differed from the standard preference settings in Itunes which was C:\Users\USERNAME\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media

hi... I too just bought a new computer with Win7; the old one was running Windows XP. I followed your post step by step, but even though the '!' don't immediately show up, once I try to click on certain songs, then iTunes tells me it cannot locate the file :-( Any other advice you can offer??

I added a Test Windows 7(x64) PC to my Work - XP on different HD's.

I was confused in not finding an ability to transfer the mediathek originally from Apple.....(so don't blame MS all the time) ;).

Anyway i tryed different possibilities (holding shift while starting iTunes so u can choose the Mediathek
